A motorcycle safety inspection is a systematic check of every system that matters for safe operation. Whether you're preparing for a long trip across Nova Scotia, buying a used Harley and want an independent assessment, or just want confidence before the riding season, a documented safety inspection identifies issues before they become problems on the road.

What's Checked

  • Tires: Tread depth, sidewall condition, age code, inflation pressure
  • Brakes: Pad thickness, rotor condition, brake fluid level and quality, lever feel
  • Lights: Headlight (high and low beam), tail light, brake light, turn signals, horn
  • Controls: Throttle function, clutch cable and lever, brake lever and pedal travel
  • Fluids: Engine oil, primary, transmission, brake fluid, coolant if applicable
  • Drive system: Belt or chain condition and tension
  • Frame and chassis: Visual inspection for cracks, loose fasteners, damaged components
  • Fuel system: Visible leaks, fuel line condition

Written Report

Every safety inspection includes a written report categorizing findings as: Pass / Advisory (not immediately unsafe but monitor or address soon) / Fail (unsafe to ride, needs immediate attention). This report is useful for used bike purchase negotiations and gives you a clear picture of the bike's current condition.
