Trail and field use puts ATV and UTV suspension components through far harsher cycles than street use — hard landings, rock strikes, and constant articulation wear shocks, bushings, and steering components faster than most riders expect. A Can-Am Maverick X3's long-travel suspension or an Outlander's independent front end both need periodic attention to keep the machine tracking straight and absorbing impacts the way it did when new.

What's Included

  • Shock inspection for oil leaks, bent shafts, and worn seals
  • Shock rebuild or replacement (OEM or aftermarket — Fox, Elka, Walker Evans)
  • A-arm bushing inspection and replacement
  • Ball joint and tie rod end inspection for play
  • Sway bar end link and bushing check
  • Wheel alignment/toe check after any steering or suspension component replacement

Common Failure Points

Ball joints and tie rod ends wear from constant small impacts and take the brunt of hard landings on Maverick and other sport side-by-sides. Bushings degrade from mud, UV exposure, and heat cycling. A machine that pulls to one side, wanders on flat ground, or clunks over bumps almost always has one of these components worn beyond spec — we diagnose the exact source rather than guessing.

Shock Rebuild vs. Replacement

Piggyback and internal-bypass shocks (common on Maverick X3 and other performance UTVs) can usually be rebuilt with fresh seals, oil, and nitrogen charge rather than replaced outright — a significant cost savings over a full new shock. We inspect and advise honestly on which route makes sense for your machine and budget.
